“My family is so happy to have discovered Jan. Our dog Smokey was a difficult dog and I always dreaded the task of finding a pet sitter for him (boarding was NOT an option). Though he had several over the years, there has been noone as attentive. I knew as soon as I introduced her to Smokey . . . and so did he. You expect a sitter to stay the night, leave early, stop in for 20 minutes mid day and then if you’re lucky, arrive early evening and stay in for the night. With Jan, Smokey got so much more quality time. Jan took him to the dog park, the beach, places I never did. The neighbors and I noticed a big improvement in him while out on our daily walks. Jan wasn’t just a sitter, she socialized Smokey and loved him as much as we did. We were honored to have her with us when we said goodbye to him, and we wouldn’t think of anyone else to sit with our new addition.”

That changed when I found Jan back in 2008. She was able then to spell me for several hours during the day, caring for up to nine dogs. One was in a wheelchair cart and four were fosters in a separate part of the house. She knew each by name, personality traits and their unique needs. It was uncanny. I had not had a sitter like her before then and also haven’t since then. My zoo does miss her a lot and I am happy to give my strongest recommendation, if you can nail down a date with Jan caring for your animals, you can leave them and feel as comfortable as if you were there all along. “This past year our mom and dad started a quest to find an in-home pet sitter for the both of us while they went on extended trips. Let’s just say the experience was a bit challenging for all of us. Ads on well known sites …. brought some very interesting visitors who have not returned. The breaking point was a sitter who un-crate trained us and let us run unattended. Finally, Jan came to visit and it’s been a fur party ever since. Considering we are small dogs with identity issues and have an angry cat sister, things have been a blast.
